We are just a few days before the premiere of Crush the movie, Starring Cherrybelle so time ago I found a recording about the producer talking to the Asian pop radio in Australia, so I heard it and was pretty interesting anyway here I will write a resume about the questions and answers (I won’t write the whole interview ¬¬ ) so I hope this become useful for anyone.

~ Is Crush the movie a documentary about Melbourne?
- Actually is not a documentary, is a movie with it’s own storyline, it is a fiction movie.
~ Can you explain why the idea about how big Cherrybelle is?
- Maybe out of Indonesia not so much people know about Cherrybelle but You would be surprised about how much people in Indonesia loves this girls, In Indonesia this 9 girls are just like superstars even they can’t walk in the streets I had the oportunity to spent time with this girls and the fans were Chasing our cars.
~ Which Label record company looks after the girls?
- the actual company is “Catz Records” where Cherrybelle is the biggest Artist getting around 6 million fans, and I mean “mad” fans
~ Do you think the Indo-pop has a big potential as the J-pop?
I think It has a lot of potential, but for the moment they are finding their own identities because the market is very different than the Japanese or Korean market Which they are more established, so cherrybelle is actually looking it’s own style.
~ This movie is about this girls showing to the audience that they have their own personality, right?
- Basically this movie about a transition for this girls because actually Cherrybelle is looked like “little kids” followed by a lot of fans around 11 years old, and their dancing style is very easy to copy so in this movie we will see a change, not exactly a change about the characters I mean the dancing, the singing the show, We don’t want to make a change on cherrybelle like a Miley Cirus or something like.
~someone did recognize Cherrybelle in Melbourne?
- We got surprised because a couple of came to cheer and even some people abou Indonesian community also a lot of people coming around and looking around and saying “good luck”
~ How much time took to record this movie?
- Well actually we took a week on here in Melbourne and 2 weeks and half in Jakarta.
~Are you allowed to explain why they will be in Melbourne in the movie or is it a secret?
- um I can explain a little about that, the plot is basically about the girls trying to improve their dancing skills, so they hire a new dance choreographer, you know a very good looking and cute boy and the girls fall in love with him, so one day they found out that he received a piece of paper saying “I love you” so the rules says that can’t be affairs between the managers and he decides to go out, then the girls decided to go after him to a place named Glenmore so anyone of the girls know where is that place then they hear that is close to Melbourne but in there they go the challenge with the street dancers basically.
~ What is your advice for someone thinking about directing?
- I don’t have any advice
~ How did you get in to?
- I’ve been in the industry bringing TV commercial and producing TV commercial and Videos and Video clips since 98 for Korean and Singapore market, maybe my advice it would be “just start, decide to start took all the jobs then the bigger ones will come and just don’t give up and don’t get stuck because you never know What’s coming up”.
~Will be there a chance to see the movie here or will it be available on DVD or online?
- A DVD will be definitely available and surely the movie will be shared by the fans and the soundtrack is fantastic

- We’ve got a Twitter @chibimovie and at the moment is the only that we’ve got because in Indonesia we don’t use Facebook anymore We use Instagram and Twitter, actually I know that any member have a Facebook account active, I know there are plenty of accounts or pages about Cherrybelle made by fans, but there is no an official page.
